Wan 3.0 vs MiniMax H3

Longer scenes or higher-resolution short clips?

Wan 3.0 gives you a 2–30 second duration range and up to 1080p in this studio. MiniMax H3 starts at 5 seconds, ends at 15 seconds and offers 768p, 2K and 4K alongside 480p. The practical choice is whether you need more time for an action or a different delivery resolution. More pixels alone do not prove better motion or identity consistency.

Which model should you choose?

Choose Wan 3.0 for a continuous action that needs more than 15 seconds, or when 720p and 1080p fit your delivery requirements. Choose MiniMax H3 when a 5–15 second shot is enough and 768p, 2K or 4K is important. Both support text and one starting image in this integration; neither comparison includes an editing timeline or mixed audio/video references.

Compare credits before generating

Quotes use the same calculation as the generator, with generated audio enabled. Pack counts assume all credits are spent on this exact setting and round down; retries consume additional credits. They are not promised usable-video counts.

Resolution is a delivery decision

Start with the size your audience will actually watch. A vertical social draft may not need a 4K render. H3 at 768p and Wan at 720p are useful nearby draft settings, but they are not an identical-resolution quality test. For a controlled budget comparison, use 480p on both. For final output, choose the required resolution independently and compare the new quotes. The H3 API documentation identifies 2K and 4K as upscales of a 768p base, while 480p and 768p are native generation modes. Treat output size and native detail as separate questions.

Give longer actions enough time

A person opening a package, lifting the product and turning it toward the camera may need more time than a single reveal. Wan can keep that action in one longer request. With H3, shorten the brief or create separate clips. Separate clips can introduce visual differences; this page does not promise seamless continuity or automatic assembly.

Judge the result, not the model name

Use the same image, framing and action where the controls overlap. Review hands, product edges, background stability and whether the camera obeys your instruction. Check sound separately from visual quality. Do not interpret H3 Max as simply a higher-resolution H3: it is a separate model with different controls and is outside this two-model comparison.

A repeatable test brief

This is a proposed test, not a claim that these two models have been benchmarked. Keep the prompt, source image and shared settings constant. Generation uses paid credits.

Suggested test prompt

A red ceramic teapot on a wooden counter. A hand slowly lifts the lid; steam rises. One continuous gentle push-in, warm window light, soft room ambience, no text.

How to review it

Compare at 8 seconds and 480p first. Then compare each model at your intended delivery resolution. Check whether the lid remains round, the steam moves continuously and the hand stays attached to the wrist.

Questions before you choose

Does MiniMax H3 support 4K here?

Yes. The current H3 selector includes 4K, but the API documentation describes 2K and 4K as upscales of a 768p base. It is an output-size choice, not native 4K generation or a guarantee of superior results.

Can I make a 20-second video with both?

Wan 3.0 supports 20 seconds in this studio. H3 is limited to 15 seconds per request; you would need to shorten the scene or create multiple clips.

Is 768p the same as 720p?

No. H3 exposes 768p and Wan exposes 720p. Compare both at 480p if identical resolution labels matter to your test.

Can I try these models without buying credits?

You can review the controls and cost estimates before paying. Actual video generation requires a signed-in account with enough credits; this comparison does not include free generations.

Will the same prompt produce the same video?

No. Outputs can differ between models and between repeated requests. Keep a record of inputs and review motion, identity, sound and actual output size. Allow a budget for more than one attempt.
